Our initial idea has been influenced by the song 'Bedshaped' sung by Keane which can be seen above. We have researched the lyrics and found that they connote a depressing and upsetting feeling, along with the melody and pace of the song. We have then decided that we wanted to base our music video around the idea of bullying and suicide as, although seen to be a taboo topic, is a subject which touches many people, therefore it will help us to create a particular mood and emotion in our music video However, we found that parts of the original version were quite upbeat and noisy. This we found didn't match our visual storyboard for our music video, as we wanted it to be more emotional. This resulted in searching for an acoustic version of the song, which we managed to find.
This version is softer and therefore emphasises more upon the sadness of the song as we hear the passion within the voice of the singer a bit more above the loud instruments and background music. This also gave us the opportunity to include a few visuals of pianos and instruments in our music video, to show aspects of the singer and band so that it becomes more of a pop video but still fits with the emotional feel.
