- copy of letter from artist or record label, must post a copy of response onto the blog
- lipsync must be accurate
- know your lyrics and sing along
- the performance must be believable
- vowels and mouth movement
- play the song while recording so that it can be heard in the background while editing
- have a 'BASE' which is where you play through the whole song at least once
- editing to markers is a must
- different shot angles
- keep locations simple, no more than 4, but use different places
- keep at least 2 weekends free for filming
- no more than 3 minutes long
- no soundtrack with swearing or drugs
- editing to the beat or the bars
- use a genre that is clear to identify
- faced pace music will require more shot, slow paced music will require fewer shots.
- consider the genre of music you use, for example rock music is performance heavy and pop music is mainly narrative based
- if using music from a well known artist, must make sure to rename the band. i.e. give them a reband
- Will need to know whether it is the artists 1st, 2nd etc track, as we will be marketing the artist through the ancillary task, we will also need to know how developed the star is and where they are in the star status.
- a professional photoshoot with the artist is required if you are planning on using their face on the digipack or advert
